We’re back with another installment of “Life at AMPECO,” where we introduce you to the people that power AMPECO. We’re switching gears once again as we’re ready to present the first member of our Product team, Denitsa Gavrilova.
We know that the term superwoman is thrown around a lot. And while we firmly believe all women, especially the women at AMPECO, are incredible, “superwoman” is genuinely befitting for Deni.
Horseback rider, surfer, AI expert (before AI was everywhere), skier, avid reader, mother of two, and an assistant university professor (because there are enough hours in the day if you organize it right), she’s always the first one on the dance floor and the first to offer to valuable insights and help where needed. She has a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive business growth and improve operational efficiency. Her ability to zoom into the technical details and zoom out to provide the larger picture and the necessary context makes her a valuable asset to the team.
This is what she had to say about her life at AMPECO.
Deni, how would you describe your role at AMPECO?
My role is to make our customers happy. In my job, this means bringing the right ideas and ensuring that they are developed and delivered on time, which is also related to sharing the necessary information with other teams so they can do their work in the best possible way.
Why did you join AMPECO?
It’s really motivating to work in the green energy, zero emissions, and sustainable solutions space, but what motivated me the most was the vision of the founders of AMPECO – their strategy and mission for the company are what brought me here.
Why do you believe in AMPECO and its success?
The possibilities are endless. This is really important as you don’t know the end goal, how you will reach that goal, or what happens on a global scale with the industry. This is really exciting. The second very important thing for me personally is that being ahead with all the latest technologies is very challenging, and bringing all these changes and new ideas into the product is very rewarding.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
I can start my day at home and switch to the office or work from anywhere. The thing that I appreciate the most is the flexibility we have. I can structure my work day and put maximum effort into meeting my deadlines without disturbing my work-life balance, which is a win-win.
Tell us more about the product team and what part of your job you enjoy the most.
The possibilities and the advanced technologies. The business is scaling, which allows me to bring forth ideas about processes and culture, and I have the chance to build the foundations of a business that would grow bigger and bigger – a really exciting journey. As a product manager, I love the fact that many soft skills are involved. We are the people that bring all other teams together to work like one well-oiled machine. But most of all, I enjoy the focus on the needs of the customers and the responsibility of bringing the right ideas – discovering them, implementing them, and seeing them thrive and fulfill so many user needs.
What would you say to someone considering a career at AMPECO or in the EV industry?
The EV industry is still in its infancy. Most likely, people will be coming from other industries and changing their career paths, but they can bring their knowledge, experience, and best practices and implement them at AMPECO in an entirely new way and field. I recommend AMPECO as a place where the atmosphere and culture are fantastic, the colleagues are very experienced, and for me, these are precisely the ingredients that lead to success and personal fulfillment.
What skillset do you need to work at one of the world’s leading EV charging software companies?
You have to be proactive. Customer needs, experience, and behavior are more or less the same over time. The principles are the same regardless of the industry or the new world we live in. If you’re proactive and willing to read and research, and if you’re not afraid of new technologies and can embrace the unknown, you’ll do well here.
What do you do in your spare hours when you’re not busy expanding AMPECO’s platform capabilities?
Well, where can I begin? I am not a person of quick wins but of steady and focused development. I am constantly starting new hobbies, expanding my interests, and never giving up on what I have already started. I am a fan of the so-called active rest, and the things I can’t do without during the week are swimming, horseback riding, listening to audiobooks, and playing board games with my kids.
