NEVI Formula 2025
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) is moving forward with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. As part of this program, Louisiana will receive funding to install and operate Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) stations along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs). The first round of funding will focus on ten (10) publicly accessible DC fast chargers to be installed outside LA DOTD’s right-of-way, within one travel mile of approved AFCs. This is part of Louisiana’s commitment to a robust EV infrastructure across the state.
Program overview
Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), Louisiana is set to receive $73.4 million in funding for EV infrastructure, with the first round of funding targeting DC fast chargers. The chargers will be strategically placed along the state’s National Highway System routes, including major interstates like I-10, I-20, and I-49. The goal is to complete a network of EV charging stations every 50 miles or less along these corridors, supporting the development of electric vehicles in Louisiana.
The Louisiana NEVI Plan outlines a phased approach for deployment, with Round 1 focusing on building out the state’s interstate AFC network. Future rounds will address non-interstate AFCs and any remaining gaps.

Proposal requirements
Proposers must identify sites within one travel mile of AFC exit ramps, located outside of public property, for the installation of DC fast chargers. The program emphasizes sustainability, equity, and accessibility in the deployment of EV infrastructure. Successful proposals must align with the goals of providing convenient, reliable, and equitable charging experiences across Louisiana. Here is the guideline for application and project eligibility.

Entergy eTech Program: Sparking Change
The Entergy eTech program is proof of Louisiana’s dedication to fostering EV adoption. This visionary initiative offers cash incentives to drive the installation of Level 2 (L2) charging stations across the state. Designed primarily for commercial and fleet purposes, this program brings together public and private sectors in a collaborative effort to build a robust EV charging infrastructure.
Under the Entergy eTech program, businesses have the opportunity to receive cash incentives of up to $250 per Level 2 charging station. This financial support significantly reduces the barriers to entry for businesses looking to invest in electric vehicle charging infrastructure. But the program’s impact doesn’t stop there.
Electrifying Truck Stops and Fleets: A Case-by-Case Commitment
Louisiana is stepping up its commitment to sustainable transportation by offering cash incentives for electrifying truck stops and fleets. In a forward-thinking approach, the Entergy eTech program considers each case on an individual basis, highlighting the state’s adaptability and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the transportation sector.
This tailored approach means that truck stops and fleets have the opportunity to receive custom cash incentives, further encouraging the integration of EV technology into the heart of the state’s transportation infrastructure.
